Our furniture is manufactured in the UK to the highest possible quality standards
Our frames are manufactured from Ash, Birch or Beech that is air or kiln dried to ensure stability, before machining on site
Upholstered frames are glued, screwed and dowelled while show wood frames ulitise comb or mortice and tenon joints for strength
All our frames feature integral front and rear legs, as we do not believe that simply screwing the legs to the base offers adequate strength
Show wood on our furniture is hand stained and sprayed using between 2 – 4 coats of lacquer. We use water based stains to reduce VOC emissions to the environment’
Our furniture is inspected at all stages of the manufacturing process and signed off by the machinist, upholsterer and goods outwards inspector to give us trace-ability and to ensure our high quality standards are maintained.’
‘We manufactured to a variety of specific standards -
Our polishing system complies with BS6250 and utilises Medicoate laquer on all show wood surfaces. This system resists microbial growth to combat the spread of infection both in medical and non-medical uses
A representative number of our chairs have undergone strength and stability tests to BS4875-1:2001 test level 4 and to BS7945:1999
The foams we use are all tested with an ignition source 5 crib to BS5852. For contract use we strongly recommend the use of fabric that has also been tested to this standard, although choice of fabric ultimately lies with our customers.
